Mouat designed this greenfield transload facility to receive sand from unit trains and transfer sand to storage silos, unloading rail cars at a rate of 800 tons per hour. Trucks can be loaded out in 7 minutes with two scales, providing the capability of loading out 400 trucks per day or 10,000 tons of sand.
This transload facility, built in the Permian basin, was designed and constructed by Mouat to be one of the most efficient transload facilities built to date. Unlike most designs, the elevator is located outside the pit to maintain a clean facility that is easy to maintain. The control system includes an inventory tracking system that is fully integrated into rail unloading and truck loadout.
Mouat was responsible for the complete facility design, project management, construction and commissioning of the facility.
