Greenfield Casting Facility

Mouat was selected to design and build a greenfield foundry to produce automotive ductile iron castings for the major U.S. automotive manufacturers. This turn-key project was completed by Mouat in 13 months from concept development to first production.

Mouat was also responsible for foundry equipment installation including Loramendi molding machines, Loramendi core machines, Inductotherm melting furnaces, General Kinematics vibratory equipment and the sand system equipment. The process control system, driven by PLCs, was designed to track and correlate all key process variables and identify variables that were out of range.
